To rekindle interest in the initiative as the COVID-19 Pandemic crisis subsided a third graphic (shown on the left) was created and is currently used on the Carroll County Public Health Department (CCPHD) Website to promote awareness of the colorectal cancer threat! The completion and return of the test kits has proven to be a significant hurdle. While not difficult, the collection of two --which significantly improves the accuracy of the test!-- stool sample smears is an unpleasant and somewhat messy task.
Recent (2018-2022) data from the Illinois Cancer Registry reports an age-adjusted colorectal cancer incidence rate in Carroll County of 3.18 persons 10,000 population. This infers that 4-5 persons annually are likely to experience colorectal cancer related issues in the County!
