Colorectal Cancer Screening

To regain momentum in the initiative as the COVID-19 Pandemic crisis subsided a third graphic (shown on the left) was created and currently used on the Carroll County Public Health Department (CCPHD) Website to promote awareness of the colorectal cancer threat AND that colorectal cancer screening test kits are available through them! They have also designed and secured a retractable Banner for display purposes. The completion and return of the test kits has proven to be a significant hurdle. While not difficult, the collection of two --which significantly improves the accuracy of the test!-- stool sample smears is a somewhat messy and unpleasant task.

Any Age Back
As of March 1, 2026, TsmJ has provided $30,100 in direct and endowment generated funds/gifts to the CCPHD for their use in supporting Colorectal Cancer Screening related activities in Carroll County, IL. Colorectal cancer screening kits are currently available with the test submittals and results monitored by the Carroll County Public Health Department (CCPHD).

Recent (2018-2022) data from the Illinois Cancer Registry reports an age-adjusted colorectal cancer incidence rate in Carroll County of 3.18 persons per 10,000 population. This infers that every year 4-5 persons in Carroll County are likely to experience colorectal cancer related issues!
